Future Plan Log

On this page is a set of logs to show what we believe needs to be improved on or added to the game during future development. each log is built differently to what we believe needs adding to the site in our own department with a set of goals we would like to build on.

While much has been done there is most likely an equal amount of work still to be done to make this game what we intend and what we’ve stated in our GDD. The main thing that needs to be worked on the most are the environments as in the current state of the game there’s only one completed environment and I’ve got two others which have not been textured at all. While the enemies that I planned to have in this version of the game are done, the other enemies are planned to be in the final version of the game, as well as the tree enemy which has yet to be animated, UV mapped and textured.

There are also sections of the game which I have yet to work on like the HUD and UI of the game as well as most things needed for the puzzles of the game, while I haven’t done anything for individual puzzles I have created assets to be used for multiple puzzles, I’ve created the table on which these puzzles will be presented as well as buttons to be used in them too, I’ve also been at work with some special effects which could be used but I haven’t completed any yet.

With all the time and resources we have as a group we have come quite far into producing what we currently have but there is still much more of what can be done to reach our end goal. For my end of the project I was able to build our website, create Pip and Charlie, create the main song for the game and assist my team in helping them edit any additional art work.

For the future of this game I will be looking into the following:

  • Rig and Animation – For the main characters Pip and Charlie I was able to create their final character models. however, as time was running short I couldn’t apply a rig to Pip although I did apply a basic one to Charlie with a set of standard animations that will be used as a placement. To improve on this, I would like to take more time into applying a more professional rig so that they can both be animated and posed in a way that fits our game perfectly.

  • Merchandise – Although I have some idea on what we can create with a few images provided on the site, there Is also an issue with looking into distributing the product as we might need to look into having a marketing license to that we have permission to sell them and make a profit from its.

  • More About the game – Just like the cloud city page and meet the characters I will also need to look into creating a page that explains how to play the game and what type of puzzles you can expect to see when you play it, however as the game is not to a high enough standard I cannot produce images to show people that they can do.

  • Music - In the future we can look into having some music composed especially for our game so that if we want to make money in the future or plan on creating a new and improved version we will have our own personal selection of music that can be played.

  • Posters - as we now have a selection of 3D assets I would like to produce some high detailed poster using the higher quality 3D models instead of a drawing of the character.

There is plenty that still needs to be done for the game that I have already outline din my evaluation; nonetheless, I will also outline it here: An in-game currency system needs to be added within the game, as well as an upgrade system which was initially going to be Ram's Shop; Additional Puzzles for the puzzle level to provide a larger variety within the gameplay; multiple bug fixes and tidying up of the game and a difficulty setting to make the game more challenging for the player.

If there is more that needs to be added, I will place that information in this section here.
