During the early stages of the modelling process I got down the basic shape of the character. I made sure to plan the character out properly and started by laying out the individual body parts flat such as the arms and tested different ways of how the animation can work for the robot. I decided to keep the character in the particular pose to better showcase the look of the character to the rest of the group, also by laying it out the bodyparts flat it was easier to see parts fit and align with one another without attempting to do that at an awkward angle it also helped me to avoid any potential errors I could of ran into when it came to animating the character.
I also UV'd it at this basic stage so I had a clean low poly UV of the character and made it so I had less work to do when it came to UVing the more complicated detailed model.
