I made various upgrades to the character throughout the modelling process. Once I had the basic shape and detail done, I decided to take it to the next stage and begin to add detail whilst still keeping the character low poly as its for a mobile game. I firstly added screws and bolts to the shoulder pads and arms as well as a suspension tube and clip mechanism on the wrists for the claw hands to be rotated on.
For the claw hands I added extrusions which would be used for some emissive lights on the hands.
Inside the chest piece I modelled a crystal as I came up with the idea to make the chest piece glass so you could see the crystal powering the robot.
The bottom of the model I just cut in some loops and extruded them out just so it did not look so blocky and basic. I added exhausts to the side of the body, as well as an upgrade on the secondary jetpack on the back plate of the robot. During the final process I went through various sizes of the body, shoulders and hands until the group was happy with the final look and sizing ratio.
