Tower #3

The third tower that I made was completely different from the previous two towers. This one I wanted to be a lot simpler and just consisted off repeated blocks. Unlike the others this is just a tall, simple tower with no complex curves or anything. However, I did follow the design of the big windows, which could also be used as just bright neon panels. I wanted this design to be a tower complex, with the middle section being a sort of lookout tower, where a light would rotate around and look for the player.
With the simple design, I went back to use Owens metal texture to see how it would look. As the building was simple, it was easy to UV so the textures can out really nice. The neon didn’t turn out as good on this model, which maybe because it's trying to cover a big surface, so the glow just vanishes. The red as well did not work well when made an emissive because it is not a bright colour like yellow or blue.
Putting all these towers together could make a good city and being able to add them onto the base of tower 2, I could create some interesting models. Owen and I have been sharing our models and texturing them in our own way so we can get different variations. This was one of the buildings that I sent to Owen and his textures were put into the game. We can keep creating more building and background assets so when we add in more levels to the game later, we can have a wider variation of models and designs. We would also be able to make bigger, more diverse city that can be used for menu screens, loading screens, and maybe later levels.
